Submit this application for consideration for a $1000 South Charleston Chamber of
Commerce Educational Foundation Scholarship. An applicant must be a South
Charleston resident OR a student at South Charleston High School OR a member of
record of the South Charleston Chamber of Commerce or a family member of a member

Montrose Mustang Scholarship
The Montrose Elementary Student Council has developed a scholarship opportunity to support graduating
seniors at South Charleston High School.
Scholarships up to $300.00 will be awarded to two candidates and funded by the Montrose Elementary PTO.
Eligibility
1. Scholarships are limited to South Charleston High School seniors that previously attended
Montrose Elementary.
2. Applicant has shown determination for classroom academic achievement.
3. Applicant has shown exemplary behavior.
4. No candidate shall be denied being recipient of a scholarship on the basis of race, creed, sex,
religion, national origin, or any other basis which is prohibited by Section 501 (C) (3) of The
Internal Revenue Code.

West Virginia Pumpkin Festival
The application for the WV Pumpkin Festival Scholarships is attached. We are anticipating presenting two $2,000 scholarships to students attending a WV Public College or University and one $1,000 scholarship to a student attending a WV Public continuing education center. Note that incomplete applications are not eligible. The application requires a transcript, reference letter, and responses to all questions.
The continuing education has to be at a WV Public Institution.

Charleston Woman's Improvement League
We are pleased to announce that the Charleston Woman’s Improvement League, Inc. (CWIL), is accepting applications for the 2023 scholarship program. The Charleston Woman’s Improvement League, Inc. is a non-profit organization with a 125 year history of giving back to the community. Our scholarship program provides scholarships annually to outstanding African American female students who are pursuing their educational goals. CWIL will be offering two scholarships: Academic Scholarship in the amount of $1000 and Thelma McDaniel Technical Scholarship in the amount of $500.

Albert Yanni Scholarship

Applications are now being accepted for the 2022-2023 Albert Yanni Scholarship which provides high-quality career technical education (CTE) students an opportunity to pursue advanced education and/or training related to their career aspirations. Scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded to students selected by a committee of WVDE personnel. Applicants selected must present proof that they have maintained their eligibility requirements before awards are presented. Lockheed Martin STEM Vocational Student Scholarships
Application deadline: April 1, 2023
Lockheed Martin's Vocational Scholarship Program is awarding $5,000 to up to 150 students! Lockheed Martin is looking for students of all ages who are preparing for careers in technology, engineering, and advanced manufacturing at a U.S. accredited community or technical college. Eligible students must be U.S. citizens pursuing an associate degree, credit-bearing certificate, or industry-recognized credential. John and Mildred Peluso Italian-American Scholarship (WVU)

The WVU John and Mildred Peluso Italian American Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship available to West Virginia University students (Morgantown campus), with Italian heritage, who demonstrate scholastic merit and pride in their heritage. APTiming Scholarships

Every year, the Appalachian Timing Group directs several races to raise funds for our scholarships. The group is excited to announce three different scholarships that are open to ANY West Virginia High School Senior. Please share this information with high school seniors so they can apply. To date, the APTiming group has awarded over 35 scholarships to various schools across the state. The deadline to apply for these scholarships will be April 15th at midnight. The winners will be announced sometime in May (with the goal to announce the winners at their award ceremony).

WV Higher Education Grant
Application deadline: April 15, 2023
The West Virginia Higher Education Grant is a need-based financial aid program designed to ensure West Virginia students with financial need are given an opportunity to pursue post-secondary education. The grant may be renewed until the student’s course of study is completed but may not exceed an additional three academic years beyond the initial award. Awards are based on demonstrated financial need and generally may be used in conjunction with other forms of state, federal, and institutional financial aid. Students can receive up to $3,200 for the 2022-23 school year. WVU’s S-STEM Scholarship Program
Application deadline: First consideration is given to applications submitted before May 15th or December 15th. WVU's Department of Physics and Astronomy received an NSF S-STEM grant to support WV students to study physics with a computational area of emphasis at WVU with a scholarship of up to $10,000 a year for up to 4 years. The scholarship may be awarded to high school seniors applying to WVU and current physics students at WVU. The goal of the program is to increase the number of West Virginians pursuing high-tech careers in physics and computer science. While applications are considered year-round, those submitted before May 15th or December 15th will receive first consideration. Promise Scholarship
Application deadline: March 1, 2023
High school seniors in the class of 2023 planning to apply for West Virginia’s Promise Scholarship have until March 1, 2023, to complete the Promise application. Through Promise, qualifying high school graduates receive annual awards of up to $5,000 to cover the cost of tuition and mandatory fees at West Virginia colleges and universities. The Promise application and eligibility requirements can be found at CollegeForWV.com/promise. The Elks National Foundation (ENF) has kicked off the 2023 scholarship year. Here are the details on two different opportunities!
Most Valuable Student (MVS) Contest:
The 2023 MVS application is now open. Applications can be found online at enf.elks.org/MVS. The application deadline is November 14 , 2022.
The Elks National Foundation (ENF) awards 500 four-year scholarships based on academics, leadership, and financial need. National awards range from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year. The national awards will be announced in April 2023. Charleston Elks Lodge No. 202 is proud to be your local contact.
MVS scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), at a U.S. college or university next school year. Some important applicant details include:
Current high school seniors (or equivalent) who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply.
Applicants do not have to be related to a member of the Elks.
Male and female students compete separately.
Applicants select from a list of the Lodges closest to their home address zip code. Please choose Charleston Lodge No. 202 as their sponsoring Lodge. Complete details can be found at Elks National Scholarship Program.
Legacy Awards – The Legacy Awards program begins on September 1, 2022. Legacy Awards provide $4,000 scholarships for children and grandchildren of dues-paying Elk members.
