We are excited to welcome our students, staff, and community members back to SCHS! 

National Honor Society Spring 2023 Applications

New National Honor Society applications are now available. They are due on Feb 3, 2023 to Ms. Blaylock in room 210. Please ensure you have all parts of the application filled out and you give all recommendation forms to teachers, admin, and counselors. Requirements can be found on the application, or in the student handbook.

Free After School Tutoring at SCHS

FREE TUTORING AFTER SCHOOL STARTING MONDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2022

HOURS 3:55-4:55  in the Library

You will be directed to the help you need: Math, Science, English, Social Studies.

Ben Franklin and Carver Students

Are you riding a bus to Ben Franklin or Carver this year? 

Pay attention to the bus info below: 

Ben Franklin Bus: 1516

Carver Bus: 1814

Both buses will pick the morning (or all day) Ben Franklin and Carver students up at 8:45AM and morning students will return at 11:15AM. 

Afternoon Carver students will be picked up at 12:00PM and return to school at 3:30PM. Afternoon Ben Franklin Students will be picked up at 12:45PM and return to school at 3:30PM

All day students will return with the afternoon students.

What is Catch the Spirit? 

Catch the Spirit is the SCHS program to encourage our students to:

Be Productive 

Be Responsible

We want our students to do their best in and out of the classroom in order to develop the skills necessary to be college and career ready. 

The criteria for the first nine weeks reward party is a 3.25 cumulative GPA for the first nine weeks and no more than 3 unexcused absences in any one class for the nine weeks. Students who meet this criteria will be rewarded with a biscuit breakfast party, great raffles and a chance to hang out together. 

The criteria for the second nine weeks is to meet the standards above or to show personal improvement by at least having a 2.0 GPA and showing a .5 GPA point increase for the nine weeks, while maintaining good attendance. Showing personal growth and improvement is an important part of making strides to a successful high school career.
